1. Getting here
Where exactly are you located?
We are located in the London Bridge area in Zone 1 (the centermost zone in London), just south of the river. The location provides a number of distinct advantages, from quick and convenient travel to easy access to London’s central shopping, tourism and business districts. For example, the heart of London shopping, Oxford Street, is located only six tube stops away. At the same time you can easily reach the main business district (the City) by foot. We are approximately 7-8 minute walk from the London Bridge tube station which provides easy access to key domestic and local transportation links in London.
Tourist attractions by MoLi London are a plenty – ranging from the classics like The London eye (a hit with all kids under 60!) to the cultural treats like the Tate Modern with its permanent Rothko fixture and treats for couples, like romantic boat rides on the Thames.
In this section we provide comprehensive info on getting to MoLi London. In subsequent sections we take you on a tour on what’s hot for local sightseeing, shopping and wining & dinning.

2. Checking In
How do I get the Keys?
Our standard Check-in is where a MoLi associate assists each guest at Check-in and welcomes them into the property. He/She will provide you with two set of keys which are yours to keep for the duration of your stay (Contact numbers of MoLi Associates are provided in the Confirmation Email).
Can I check in/out really early morning or really late at night?
If you are flying in late, on the weekend, or your flight gets significantly delayed, we are happy to do a late Checkin/out given availability of staffing. This is subject to an out of office hours charge: GBP 30 between the hours of 7 pm and 10 pm and GBP 50 thereafter. More details are available through reservations@houseofmoli.com. Alternatively, you may chose to Check-in out office hours using our Digital locking facility, whereby no extra charges may be levied and an apartment entry code is issued prior to your arrival.
What are the access codes for the building/flat?
One pass-code to remember is the main entrance pass-code which is '1970'. Further rubbish disposal pass-code is 'C 1970.' Each MoLi London Flat has a secure digital lock to facilitate self (or Out of Office Hours) Check In; these security codes are provided to guests individually once a reservation is confirmed.
3. Getting around
What is the best way to travel around London?
London has a very comprehensive public transport network, which will minimize your chances of getting lost and probably save you a few quid in the process!
An Oyster card is generally the cheapest way to travel. It works on a top-up basis, and you can purchase/top-up your card at any tube or rail station (either at a desk or ticket machine). It is valid on the underground, busses, trams, the overground, the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) and some trains.
You will be charged on the basis of how many zones you travel through. This tends to be a lot cheaper than simply buying a ticket: for example, a single tube journey from London Bridge to Oxford Circus will cost you £1.60 with Oyster and £4 in cash. A single bus journey (from anywhere to anywhere) is £1 with Oyster and £2 cash.
Oyster also ‘caps’ your daily fare, which means it will not charge you above a specific amount no matter how much travel you do in a single day. For two zones, the fare is capped at £5.10.
Don’t forget to touch in and out at the barriers when you travel, or you will be charged a penalty fare!
What’s the alternative to Oyster?
If you are staying in London for a week or more, you might also want to consider a travelcard. A weekly zone 1-2 travelcard costs £25.80 – which could be cheaper than Oyster in some circumstances. For a full list of travelcard prices visit http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tickets/faresandtickets/seasontickets/4805.aspx
What about children?
Children under 11 can travel around London for free with a 5-10 Oyster photo card (ask at any ticket desk). Under-16s can also get reduced fares with an Oyster photocard. For example, a tube journey from London Bridge to Oxford Circus will cost £0.55. Adults who have a valid travelcard can also buy an accompanied child (aged 11-15) a travelcard for £1
How can I book a taxi?
A very popular service in London is Addison Lee 0844 800 66 77; A new environmentally sound taxi service is: Green Tomatoes (http://www.greentomatocars.com/; 0208 568 0022)
There is a 24-hr minicab service on Tower Bridge Road; you can call them on 0207 394 0000. Almost next door there is also an All Cars taxi service; book by phone on 0207 834 3000. Black cabs are generally the safest and most reliable way to travel, even if they cost a little bit more (the journey will be priced on the meter). Here are some London Black Cab numbers:
One-Number Taxi: 0871 871 8710; Call-A-Cab: 020 8901 4444; Dial-A-Cab: 020 7253 5000
If you ever get stranded, text HOME to 60835 (at the cost of 35p + network rate) to get a list of taxi and minicab services in your area. Note: if you are texting from an overseas mobile number, send the text to +44(0)7797 800 000

4. The Nearest…
Where is the nearest church?
A St Mary Magdalene Church of England is located on Bermondsey Street, a few yards south of the flats (go out of Royal Oak Yard and turn right). Bermondsey Methodist Central Hall can be found at 256, Bermondsey Street.
Where can I find a dry-cleaner?
There is a convenience shop on Bermondsey Street which also offers dry-cleaning services. It is located just after Tyers Gate, and is closed on Sunday. If you continue down Bermondsey Street towards Tower Bridge Road, you will also find two dry cleaners after Decima Street: Crystal Clean and 2hr Dry Cleaning.
Other useful places in the area
Tower Bridge Road (at the foot of Bermondsey Street; turn right when you go out of the flat) is full of shops and various tradesmen, so you can fulfill almost every likely and unlikely need within a short walking distance. City Cobbler on Tower Bridge Road will help with shoe repairs. There is also a Western Union right next door. A convenience store on Decima Street also offers a photocopy service.

5. What is MoLi? A bit about us.
What we do?
We are a small privately held company registered in the UK. We are young and we like to think we are emerging leaders in the Self Catering world. We have a small footprint that is growing rapidly from word-of-mouth as our guests tell their friends and families of the quality experience we provide. We focus on the traveller who is looking for quality and comfort but not necessarily into spending loads of money on fancy hotel companies with fancy overhead. We are not a hotel company, and we have no ambition of becoming one. This helps us reduce the additional costs and pass the savings directly to our guests – many of whom are returning guests to various MoLi locations. We focus our energies on elegant design, cleanliness & hygiene, high quality linen, high end mattreses, technology and well equipped kitchens – a comprehensive formula that makes for a great holiday or business stay at recession busting prices!
What is Self-Catering?
Self Catering is a growing world where a traveller caters herself/himself. Typically it means that the provider of such facilities does not provide additional services such as concierge, room service, and other clerical staff. Fully equipped kitchens and laundry facilities are another hallmark and enable the guests to service their needs to their taste and convenience. This helps save travellers a lot of money – at least 40% compared to standard hotel accommodations, and a lot more if travelling in a large group.
What can we expect from MoLi London?
There are certain elements you can expect from us with our guarantee – these include fully equipped kitchen with functional cooking, refrigeration and laundry facilities; high end audio and video equipment, accommodations situated close to top city attractions and well serviced by local bars and restaurants, high quality and tasteful furnishings, professionally cleaned linen, and beddings to make for a restful sleep. Our staff members are thoughtful and patient, and our reservations desk is expedient and responsive.
Our Terms & Conditions
We have a complete list of Terms & Conditions – required from a business standpoint. We will relay these to you at the time of a reservations request – just so you have these at hand whether considering us for your holiday. These Terms & Conditions govern the agreement between our guests and us while they stay with us. We abide by them strictly and request our guests to do the same.
6. What can I expect to find in the flats?
Do you provide Complimentary Internet access?
Yes; we provide free internet access (or wifi) in all MoLi Locations. In MoLi London, the provided service is through British Telecom. You may use the complimentary house desktop or netbook (as the case maybe) or alternatively search for the wireless network on your personal laptop. You can do this by selecting the Wireless LAN selection in your notebook and searching for network - called “MoLi”; our access code is molilondonsuites
Help, the internet is not working!
If you have any trouble logging on we recommend searching for all available networks and reconnecting to MoLi. Alternatively you may hit right click on your desktop and select the “refresh” option. Finally, restarting the computer is a good idea as well as it will allow the machine to re align itself to the network.
While we endeavor to deliver what we promise it is worthwhile to note that there are a few internet cafés dotted around the area in case BT fails us. The closest one is on Bermondsey Street itself – located in side the coffee shop – “Coffee @”. Another one is on Tower Bridge Road (go right out of the flat and go down the street until you reach the intersection with Tower Bridge Road with all the shops), next to the Costcutter.
How can I make local and international phone calls?
We do not provide telephone in the premises but we can recommend obtaining a PayAsYouGo card from a local Telecom company such as Vodafone. A typical SIM card can be purchased for GBP 10 and topped up as per your usage.
International calling cards are available at convenience stores around Bermondsey Street and Tower Bridge Road. There is also a phone booth on the corner of Guy’s hospital on St Thomas Street (just after the Weston Street intersection).
What’s on the Tele?
Each MoLi London Flat is equipped with a modern flat panel television and DVD player. We do not provide Cable television access but only Freeview. To learn more on what’s on TV please log onto: http://www.freeview.co.uk/ which offers a selection of leading channels including BBC and ITV.
Do I need to bring linen, kitchen utensils, hairdryer or towels?
All of the above are provided in the flat at no extra charge. All linen and towels are freshly laundered prior to each guest check-in. We provide 1 Large towel per guest and 1 small hand towel between two guests. Luxury hand soap, toilet paper, kitchen towel, utensil cleaning soap – are all supplied. Kitchen utensils for upto 6 guests are provided in each MoLi London Suite. A Hairdryer is provided in the flat – usually in the bathroom cabinet / rack.
Is the flat child-friendly?
We provide a travel baby cot upon request. We usually check with you prior to your arrival if this may be required. The cot is a basic travel cot so we do request you bring along any special bedding or linen that may add to the comfort of your baby’s stay.
Is there a parking space?
Yes; parking is available and situated directly in-front of Larch Court. It is an over-ground parking spot and unsheltered, yet private and exclusive to MoLi London. Our spot is directly across from Office named ‘Image Data.’ Parking is chargeable and available at cost of GBP10/night.
Help! I need an adaptor!
Ah, the eternal plight of the international traveler. British plug sockets generally differ from every other kind out there, so you will most likely need an adaptor to charge your phone or plug in your laptop if you are coming from another country.
Universal and country-specific adaptors tend to be freely available at airports and some major train stations (though not London Bridge), so it would be easiest to get one before you leave. If not though, there is a small electronics shop within a few hundred yards of the flats. Go right after leaving the flats and continue down Bermondsey Street until you reach the Tower Bridge Road intersection. The row of shops there includes Tower Electrics, which might be able to help you.
Help! The hot water’s run out
MoLi London Suites are equipped with large boilers, however at times when there is an unusually large party, the boiler is unable to serve each guest shower using one heat load. In such an event, we suggest hitting the ‘Boost’ button on the boiler dashboard (located in the storage cabinet between the kitchen area and the guest bathroom in the hallway). Following this, kindly wait 20-30 minutes and the hot water will be restored to the bathrooms.
What do I do with the rubbish?
To empty your bins, take the escalator to the ground floor and go out to the left (instead of right, where the exit is). Go through the door outside and turn right into the narrow passage. On your right, you will see grey doors labeled “bin store”. The access code is ‘C 1970’
Can we smoke in the apartments?
The Apartments are non-smoking apartments and we require guests adhere to this Term strictly. You are welcome to smoke downstairs or outside the apartments. (Please see Terms & Conditions for more details)
What is the bed configuration? Where will all the guests Sleep?
Each Apartment has different sleeping configurations. In general, the apartments are equipped with 2 double bedrooms with one king sized bed that sleeps two guests, and a second smaller guest room that also sleeps two guests but on a smaller Queen size bed. Depending on the size and requirements of the guests, we supply further sofabeds that sleep additional guests. Our sofabeds are hand picked and we have taken care to ensure that they provide a restful sleep.
The L1000 for instance has two double sleeper sofabeds in its large living room, whereas the L800 has a single double sleeper sofabed. In addition we have air beds and some BoConcept single sleeper foldouts and regular foldout cots – which can all be provided upon request.
We have also carefully chosen the sofabeds we use in all our apartments. The sofabeds have firm mattresses and have ample legroom. The Double Sleeper Sofa-beds (See Below) are inspired by the architect and designer “Florence Knoll”; these sofabeds are 84 inches in Height (equivalent to 7 Ft) hence can comfortably sleep guests as tall as 6ft 8 inches.
Is there a lift/elevator?
Yes, all units are in buildings with a fully functional elevator. The elevators are large and can accommodate wheelchairs, and large suitcases.
Is there air conditioning?
Given London’s climate, it is unusual to require air conditioning even in the summer months. We currently do not have air conditioning to cool apartments. We do have heaters in every room. They are quite and efficient and programmable – so you can vary the heat levels during the day or night and between different rooms.
How many TV sets are there in the apt?
Presently each Flat has one Television set that comes with a Freeview connection. On Freeview you are able to watch scores of channels ranging from BBC to ITV and a myriad of other private broadcasts.

7. Eating & drinking
Where is the nearest grocery store?
There are several convenience stores on Bermondsey Street. The opening hours are usually from 8am to 9pm, but with reduced opening time on the weekend and some will be closed Sundays.
If you continue southwards on Bermondsey Street, then turn left onto Abbey Street (just after the church) you will see Bermondsey Square on your left. Tucked away in the far corner is supermarket Sainsbury’s, where you can find a larger selection of food, ready meals, magazines, alcohol, freshly baked bread and even flowers. It is open every day from 7am to 11pm.
Borough market, located between Southwark, Stoney and Bedale Streets, is also worth a visit if you want a taste for fresh local food. Go north on Bermondsey Street, then turn left and continue down St Thomas Street until you see the market on your left. Here you will find anything from fresh fish and meat to bread and olive oil. Worth a visit not only for curbing the hunger pangs, but also for the experience!
The market is open in the afternoons, Thursday to Saturday.
Is there a 24-hr store somewhere?
Yes; if you turn right onto Bermondsey Street after leaving the flat and continue straight until you reach Tower Bridge Road, you will see a small Costcutter, which sells food, alcohol and small necessities and is open 24 hours a day.
Where can I buy some baguette?

What are the best pubs nearby?
Bermondsey Street and the surrounding area offer a number of great English pubs. The Woolpack and The Garrison are located just after the Leathermarket Street intersection and offer a reasonably-priced selection of snack food, fish, meat and vegetarian dishes, as well as a cozy atmosphere.
A bit further down, where Bermondsey Street merges into Tower Bridge Road, you will find The Marigold Bar, which offers traditional English food on a budget, as well as live sports and Thursday-night poker.
Across the road from The Marigold you will also see The Hartley, which has filling meal deals on certain days of the week, including a Sunday Roast with all the works. Main courses are about £10.
What are the best restaurants in the area?
Bermondsey, Southwark and the South Bank are all modern, cultural areas with culinary establishments to delight any palette. There are several trendy places to have lunch or dinner within easy walking distance of the flats.
The Hide is a comfortable, but somewhat limited, bar/restaurant located on Bermondsey Street just after Crucifix Lane. Mains are about £9. Closed Sundays.
Delfina is a more upscale, fine dining restaurant which typically attracts the business and fashion-chic crowd. Dishes are complex and creative, at around £15 for a main course. Located on the west side of Bermondsey Street, next to The Hide. Closed on weekends.
For the more urban indie crowd there’s the Bermondsey Street Coffee, a friendly place boasting “award-winning” sandwiches and free Wi-Fi. On a similar scale there is also the Euro-Mediterranean Bermondsey Kitchen (194, Bermondsey St) which had comfortable couches for a relaxed atmosphere and an authentic grill for delicious mid-range food.
For the seriously clued-in traveler, there’s Village East (171, Bermondsey St). Raved about in The Independent, it is frequented by the in-vogue art crowd. The menu is diverse and somewhat weird (champagne jelly anyone?), but the wine list is vast and the prices are affordable.
There are many more interesting and diverse bars and restaurants around the area, beyond Bermondsey Street.
Where can I get a quick bite/takeaway?
Sainsbury’s, located in Bermondsey Square, has a selection of easy ready meals and on-the-go food.
For quick bites like sandwiches or paninis, check out Al’s Café, just before the Long Lane intersection on Bermondsey Street. SoBo, on Tower Bridge Road, is a similar establishment, serving hot & cold snacks for when you’re in a rush. Right next to it is chain pasty shop Greggs, of dubious quality but revered by students and early-rise workers adhering to the philosophy that it’s never too early in the day for meat wrapped in dough.
St Thomas Street is also host to a McDonald’s and a Starbucks (if you’re into that kind of thing), both located just in front of Guy’s Hospital
Finally, for those deep-fried fat cravings, there’s the Southern Fried Chicken located in the row of shops just after Decima Street. Frankly, it does what it says on the tin.

8. What to do in case of an emergency
Who can I contact if something’s wrong?
The flats are self-catering which means that we are able to provide quality and comfort at budget prices by minimizing staffing costs, concierge, and a help desk. However, if you do run into an emergency, we request you call our reservations desk or your Check-in contact, which would have been provided to you prior to your arrival.
What are UK’s emergency numbers?
999 is the general ‘emergency’ number, similar to 911 in the U.S.
There is no specific police/ambulance/fire distinction.

9. Reservations, Deposit & Other Questions
How much do I have to pay?
We endeavour to be competitively priced at all times. If you find similar accommodations and services at lower price, then tell us and we will match it (given availability)
What is your exact address?
For security reasons we are unable to give out the exact addresses for our flats prior to reservations. Once a booking is confirmed, we send our guests a detailed reservations email, confirming itinerary, apartment, exact address, detailed directions to arrive at the apartment, and also a host of useful information such as nearby conveniences, shopping, leisure and dinning activities in the vicinity.
Why is the price so high in one month and low in another?
We get a lot more requests for our services during Christmas and New Years – more so even than the summer and spring holidays. The travel industry’s pricing generally reflects this phenomenon as it helps cover slow periods where businesses may not recover all their costs – we are susceptible to the same economics and hence have fine tune our pricing based on these seasonal variances.
Why is the price in Euros or Yen so different from the equivalent price in GBP?
We do not always update our prices on websites daily – so that means in times such as these where currencies are fluctuating at unprecedented levels, our pricing may look off in one website versus another. So check with our reservations desk for live rates – these are synchronized to live currency market rates and always the most accurate.
Why is the price different on one website versus another?
We often have to pay commission to third parties that on-sell our services. This is somewhat justified as they too have their operational costs. However the most economical rates are always when you “cut out the middleman” so to speak. So book directly with our reservations desk (reservations@houseofmoli.com) for the lowest available rates
I have more than 4 guests, do you charge extra per guest?
Our quoted prices are for a party of 4. Any additional guest requires more service, linen, towels etc, and hence we add a surcharge of GBP 20 / night / additional person. So as an example, if you have a party of 8 the pricing would be the base tariff plus the additional GBP 80.
Children are infants, is the surcharge still applicable?
The additional guest surcharge is applicable only to children over the ages of 2. So if you have infants below the age of 2, they stay for free!
Do you charge extra for a Baby Cot?
No, unlike our competitors we do not charge extra for a baby Cot. It’s on the house and relatively basic – a travel cot. So if you require additional linen and baby blankets, we request you pack them with you.
Is parking available and at what cost?
Yes, we have a dedicated parking to our apartments – often shared between a number of our flats. These are over-ground facilities (i.e. not garaged) yet dedicated and owned/operated by MoLi. We do have to charge extra for these and the cost is GBP 10/night.
Are you Pet Friendly?
Unfortunately we are not set up yet to receive domestic pets. We hope to be in future ready with scratch mats, dog dishes, extra collars and all the goodies. Give us a bit more time.
What is this Short Stay Surcharge?
The longer you stay the cheaper your overall nightly tariff. This is because it reduces our operating costs and we are able to pass this benefit on to you. We would hate to turn away guests so we still welcome guests who wish to stay for a few days, but we do add on a small tariff. This varies from month to month, so please check with our reservations desk on the exact surcharge.
Are there any other extra costs that I should know about now?
There are no hidden costs in any of our billing. We take great pride in this and our billing is highly transparent.
Why do you require a deposit?
We require a GBP 100 deposit of all tourists. It is a standard feature in almost all holiday lettings. It protects the owners from misuse and damages - accidental or intentional. Till date our experience in this industry has been extremely positive and we have rarely had to withold any part of this deposit.
When will I get my security deposit back?
We endeavor to return your security deposit within one week of a successful Checkout. We have rarely experience any loss in the property or missing amenities to have any reason to not return your deposit in full. We prefer to return the deposit electronically through Paypal, however if you wish for a bank wire please provide us with an IBAN code, a SWIFT/BIC number, Name of account holder, and the name of your bank to reservations@houseofmoli.com. Please note that any banking fees levied will be deducted from your deposit.
Can the damage deposit be given cash on arrival?
If there is sufficient time lag between booking and arrival – i.e. greater than two weeks, then we prefer to receive the damage deposit or security deposit along with reservation deposit.
Why am I being charged a PayPal Surcharge?
It really is hard to believe that in this modern day & age, electronic transaction processing is still so expensive. We process numerous transactions on PayPal but still get charged a hefty fee – ranging from 2-4%. In a perfect world there would be a lot more competition amongst these payment vendors and the fees would be negligible – but unfortunately we are not there yet. Hence we share the fee with our guests and take on some of this surcharge.
Can we pay by wire transfer, given that there is enough time before arrival of the clients?
Certainly. We are happy to take wire transfers as they may reduce transaction costs in certain instances. We have a UK Commercial Banking Account under the trading name of House of Modern Living Limited. More details as below:
IBAN number is:GB23MIDL40010632410230
SWIFT Code:MIDLGB2105F
Business Name is:House of Modern Living Ltd.
Sort Code:40-01-06
Account Number:32410230
Address:90 Baker Street, London W1U 6AX
What about paying in a foreign currency?
We recalculate the value of your remaining balance based on the spot FX rate as quoted by Google finance, on the close of business prior to your Check in date.
We request that the renter bears this in mind and is cognizant that if it is a significant currency movement on a large bill, the renter may benefit or have a higher bill. MoLi simply prefers to be paid in GBP as it is incorporated in the UK.

Is there anything interesting to see in the area?
London Bridge and Bermondsey are not only popular tourist spots, but also sites of lesser explored London attractions.
Historical attractions include the Tower of London (see www.hrp.org.uk/toweroflondon/) for an authentic feel of the Tudor times. Plenty of things to see and do for all the family. For the slightly less educational (but far more entertaining) experience, visit The London Dungeon, located just opposite the London Bridge Station. Although the venture is essentially an overpriced theme park dedicated to glorifying England’s historical tragedies, the kids certainly love it. Get more information at www.thedungeons.com
For those of you visiting with small children, there are also two small parks in the area where you can take the little ones for a bit of fresh air and a hazard-free runaround. A roomy, manicured green is located off Bermondsey Street, just after Tanner Street. Another park is located next to Bermondsey Square, off Long Lane.
For the chic and glamorous traveler, there is the Fashion and Textile Museum, an unmissably bright building located at 83, Bermondsey Street. A veritable hub of contemporary fashion design, it puts effort into hosting diverse exhibitions and showcasing avant-garde designers and promising new talent. In the same vein, the Design Museum (located at Shad Thames, just off Tooley Street) is no less intriguing to the urban-pop aficionado, with interesting, creative (and often completely unusable) solutions to modern living.
The South Bank (an area generally spanning the distance between Waterloo and London bridges) is also one of the main “action” spots of London, including cinemas, arts centres and often various cultural occasions on the weekends.
Any good places to shop?
Bermondsey is not a very busy shopping spot, but there are a few interesting retailers dotted around the area. #167 Bermondsey Street is a quirky retailer specializing in clothes and “contemporary lifestyle”. A bit further down, a shoe shop with a neon green façade is the pricey shoe outlet United Nude, with chic styles echoing the brash, unique designs of the 60s and heyday Carnaby Street.
Further north, the street offers two higher-end clothes outlets: Pussy Willow (chic women’s clothing) and Cockfighter of Bermondsey (men and women’s clothes boutique). Down south there is also funky clothes retailer Marmalade (100, Tower Bridge Road) which sells gifts and clothes.
To combine shopping with a delicious meal, visit the Hay’s Galeria (www.haysgalleria.co.uk), a covered retail mall located between Hay’s Lane and Battle Bridge Lane. Here you can find jewelry, clothes and gifts, and a range of food to suit all tastes, from Starbucks to Thai cuisine. To get there, go north on Bermondsey Street and turn left onto Tooley Street – you will see the Galeria on your right.
In all fairness, London’s hottest shopping areas (Oxford Street, Carnaby Street and, more recently, the Westfield Shopping Mall) are easily accessible by public transport and if your heart is set on a bit of retail therapy, it would be worthwhile to pay them a visit.
